Preparation stops today at the door of the venue. We are working to extend it: so that the project compares what it plans with what is actually built and powered.

Live replaces no step of the preparation: it extends its reach onto the site, then through the life of the installation.

The gap between the plan and reality shows while you are still in front of the equipment, not at the first run in front of an audience.

The state of the installation is read on the same project as the plan: a single source, not a second tool to keep up to date.

At handover
The pack handed over describes the installation as it is in service, with what was adjusted on site.
In development
Work under way
This part is in development. None of it is promised for the beta.
We are progressing domain by domain, starting from what an AV installation exposes about itself once built and powered.
- Network
- Read port occupancy, power over the network and segmentation, and compare them with the prepared plan.
- Sound reinforcement
- Know what is powered and what is receiving signal, from the control position out to the speakers.
- Video chain
- Know what is online and what is delivering a picture, from one end of the chain to the other.
- Wireless links
- Follow spectrum occupancy and levels during operation, on the links declared in the project.
- Workstations
- Know the presence and availability of the machines that are part of the project.
- Control surfaces
- Recall the project and its views from a physical surface, within reach at the control position.
Limits
What Live will not be
- PatchFlow will not run the show. It prepares, checks and reports; running the show stays with the tools and the people whose job it is.
- Live will not gate the rest: designing, checking and documenting an installation will never depend on it.
- Nothing will be announced as available before it is, and no date is given.
